Greek Certification Authority
DIO, Inspection and Certification Organization of Organic Products, was established in 1993 as a non-profit public benefit Organization. DIO offers the benefit of long-term experience, leadership and consistent presence in the field of organic products.
DIO has been authorized by the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food of the Hellenic Republic since 21/7/1993 as an official Inspection & Certification of Organic Products Body, according to European legislation and is the longest-operating Inspection and Certification Organization of organic products in Greece, with the code GR-BIO-01.
DIO Organization was the first Hellenic Inspection and Certification Organization of organic products to be accredited by E.SY.D. (Hellenic Accreditation System), in accordance with ELOT ΕΝ 45011, on 27-11-2001-nowadays ISO 17065.
Since 15/10/2010 DIO has been accredited by E.SY.D. (Hellenic Accreditation System), in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 1021 Standards, to carry out inspections of Food Safety Management Systems according to EN ISO 22000:2005.
A sign of consumer confidence
DIO, since it was founded and operates in 1993, having the most years of experience in the field of organic products & most recently in Food Safety Management and Quality Management Systems, has won the trust of consumers and its brand is a sign of trust. The Organization is approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Physical Planning and Public Works as an Official Body for the Control and Certification of Organic Agriculture Products, in accordance with European Legislation.
Validity and Transparency in certification
In the Organic Products Certification System implemented by the DIO Organization, the initial certification is granted and then checked by a multi-member Certification Council, composed of reputable scientists, of all specialties, with extensive knowledge and experience in organic farming, thus ensuring reliability, validity. and parity in the issuance of the certification. We follow the strictest limits for pesticide detection internationally.
International recognition and reliability
The DIO Organization has been approved by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, since 1993 as an official body for the Control and Certification of Organic Products. It is the most historic certification body of organic products with the Code GR-BIO – 01. The Organization DIO monitors the developments in the field of organic agriculture at an international level and paves the way for the development of organic agriculture in our country, with many and pioneering actions.
Social and Solidarity Economy
DIO is a member of the Register of Social and Solidarity Economy Bodies (K.AL.O) proving its social role. According to the principles of Social and Solidarity Economy, among the goals of companies are:
- sustainability and profitability, but not speculation,
- the benefit of employees, through the provision of decent wages and working conditions,
- their activity to have a positive social footprint for the benefit of society.
We are the only non-profit organization to certify organic products (and now with state recognition).
